MSD Ignitions have been around for a long time. I use this particular 6A Ignition system in my personal  truck, a 1665 Ford F100 short bed 4x4. Its my favorite, it sports an old 390 FE roller motor with a few goodies and puts about 450 hp to the ground. This truck is my daily driver, and the MSD system is the most reliable MSD system I have found to date. This MSD gives me a smoother idle even with the big cam. This MSD system has improved my mileage a tad (if I can keep my foot out of it) along with better and easier start ups and a much improved top end with great spark and timing stability. The features of the F150 MSD system makes it a perfect affordable choice for the economy minded F150 owner who is looking for an MSD upgrade.

This MSD 6 A series like all "6" series MSD ignitions will work in any F150 ford. These MSD ignitions requires at least 12 volts. An MSD Ignition can be triggered by points, magnetic pick up or an electronic amplifier from the crankshaft. When ordering your MSD systems by application you will get all the parts, harnesses and easy to read instructions for your MSD as well. It does not get any better than that MSD Ignition.

An MSD Ignition is one of the simplest upgrades an F150 freak can do. This MSD Ignition will add power, improve mileage, plus give you better start ups. And if you have made other improvements to your F150, MSD ignition will definitely impress you. I know this MSD ignition has impressed me. Installation is a snap with this MSD ignition system. They give you very clear instructions how to install this great MSD system. I like this ignition because all you need is a small spot to mount the " box", try to get your MSD ignition system in an area that is cooler and dry, ie. put your MSD box up high and away from any extreme engine heat. HINT: I put mine in the cab just below the glove box, then just route the Ignition system wires to the various locations that are needed.

There are many different MSD ignition set ups and ignition parameters that you can control using an aftermarket MSD ignition. And there are MSD ignition systems that allow ignition adjustments such as, initial ignition timing, there is ignition curves, peak ignition, and ignition dwell. So make sure you have researched your MSD ignition needs, be it an OEM ignition or an ignition that you are upgrading. We can help you at F150Mania.

You should also consider for your MSD ignition a top of the line coil, new high performance plug wires and good plugs would be a good start. Remember, some times in the rush of getting the most horse power from our rigs we over look the ignition systems. The OEM ignition systems are adequate for stock applications and even then an aftermarket MSD  Ford system can add extra power, better mileage, and burn cleaner than a OEM ignition and they look better under our hood. You can get all your F150 MSD ignition Systems and other ignition goodies her at F150Mania. Come buy from us and receive our great customer service. Thank you DEAN
