F150 EBC OE Replacement Brake Rotors or UPR (Ultimax Plain Rotor) series as we call them are a direct size for size replacement brake rotor made with quality grey iron as used by the OEM builders. These rotors are non slotted and are exact copies of the OEM designs. There are two types of rotors fitted to today's modern trucks, the "Solid" and the "Vented" type rotor. Consumers often confuse vented rotors with drilled rotors but the fact of the matter is if your truck is fitted with vented rotors, you must replace it with the same vented rotor for it to fit and work correctly on your truck.
The term vented, merely refers to a brake rotor which has two separate braking faces connected by a "Vaned" core which serves to ventilate the brake rotor and that improves brake cooling. Vented brake rotors are normally used on higher performance vehicles and most all modern trucks feature vented brake rotors Adding safety and improved brake performance.
EBC premium OEM replacement rotors feature g3000 oem spec grey iron, precision machined to OEM specs and are the ideal replacement for daily driver urban use on all types of vehicle, edge coded and sold per piece (SINGLE ROTOR). always replace left and right rotors at the same time, never one side only to avoid brake imbalance.
EBC OEM replacement brake rotors are the ideal choice for general brake replacement for the daily or urban driver who merely wants quality parts to undertake a brake service.
Always replace brake pads when replacing rotors, it is unwise and unsafe to use worn or old pads on new rotors as these can cause hot spots on the rotors and promote brake fade and more than double bed in time. This is both dangerous and bad economics.
When replacing brake rotors of any kind please remember how important brake safety is to your own well being and either have a professional mechanic install your new brakes or if you are a qualified mechanic use the EBC installation DVD as a guide in support of your vehicle owner's manual. These installation guide DVD's can be viewed here and purchased from online vendors.
Safety Hint All brake rotors will be attached to your vehicle axle with a locknut which should ALWAYS be replaced at rotor change, never attempt to re-use a slotted style locknut thath ispopular on many Ford and other quality vehicles. Insufficient locknut torque can cause early wheel bearing failure and or wheels and rotors to become detached from your vehicle.
